Thard Holdem
Thard Holdem is a poker game where you try to win chips by making the best five card hand, or by getting everyone else to fold.
How the cards work
- You get 2 private cards (your hole cards)
- The table gets 5 shared community cards
- Your final hand is the best 5 cards you can make using any mix of your 2 hole cards plus the community cards
How a hand starts
- Each hand begins with two forced bets called the small blind and big blind
- The dealer button rotates each hand, and the blinds rotate with it
- Once the blinds are posted, everyone gets 2 hole cards
The four stages of a hand
- Preflop: betting with only your hole cards
- Flop: 3 community cards appear, then betting
- Turn: a 4th community card appears, then betting
- River: a 5th community card appears, then final betting
If more than one player is still in after the river, the hand goes to showdown.
What you can do on your turn
- Check: bet nothing when nobody has bet yet this round
- Call: match the current bet to stay in the hand
- Raise: increase the bet (you choose the new “raise to” amount)
- Fold: give up the hand and stop betting
All-in
If you do not have enough chips to call or raise normally, you can go all in, which means you bet your entire stack. When players are all in, the remaining community cards will reveal and the winner is decided.
How you win
- Everyone else folds and you win the pot immediately, or
- You reach showdown and the best hand wins the pot
Hand rankings (high to low)
- Straight Flush
- Four of a Kind
- Full House
- Flush
- Straight
- Three of a Kind
- Two Pair
- One Pair
- High Card
Table controls in Thard Holdem
- Sit Out: You stay at the table, but you will not be dealt into new hands. This is useful if you need a break or you are waiting.
- I’m Back: This appears after you sit out. Press it when you are ready to play again and be included in the next hand.
- Leave: Exits the table and returns you to the lobby. If you leave in the middle of a hand, you are effectively done with that hand.
- Seat Leave: If your name is shown at a seat, you may also see a small Leave option near your seat. It does the same thing as the main Leave button.
- Ambient sound toggle: There is a small icon on the top-right corner of the screen that controls background room sounds. When it shows a music note, ambient sound is on. When it shows a blocked icon, ambient sound is off. This only affects the background ambience, not the card and chip sound effects.
Quick tips
- Folding is normal. Most hands are not worth playing.
- Pay attention to the community cards. They change everything.
- When in doubt, call small bets and fold to big ones until you learn the flow.
